AMD launches Ryzen 5000 Series desktop processors: Here’s everything you need to know

AMD recently announced the launch of its latest Ryzen 5000 series of desktop processors in the US. AMD says the new 5000 Series processors are also available in India now. Based on the improved ‘Zen 3’ architecture, the new processors are said to deliver a 26% more performance in gaming and a 19% improvement in instructions per cycle compared to the current Ryzen 3000XT series. The company is tapping better single-core as well as multi-core performance. Ryzen 5000 Series desktop CPUs are drop-ins that are currently compatible with 500-generation motherboards after a BIOS update.

The price of AMD Ryzen 5000 Series CPU in India starts at Rs. 22,990 and the company has revealed suggested pricing for these new chips. These prices are tax-exclusive, that means the final prices are going to be slightly higher.

Price & Specifications:

The 6-core, 12-thread Ryzen 5 5600X is rated for 3.7GHz and 4.6GHz base and boost speeds respectively, and features 35MB of cache memory. The Ryzen 5 5600X has a 65W rating and will come with AMD’s Wraith Stealth cooler in the box.

AMD has priced the Ryzen 5 5600X in the US at USD 299 and AMD Ryzen 5 5600X India is priced at Rs. 22,990. The final price is likely to be around Rs. 27,000 which includes 18% GST.

The Ryzen 7 5800X is an 8-core, 16-thread model with 36MB cache memory, base and boost speeds of 3.8GHz and 4.7GHz respectively, and a total of 36MB cache memory. It has a TDP of 105W and will not come with a stock cooler. AMD has priced the GST-inclusive at around Rs. 40,700, with the Ryzen 7 5800X at US $ 449 in the US, and Rs. 34,490 in India.

The 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen 9 5900X runs between 3.7GHz and 4.8GHz, has a 70MB cache fantasy and a TDP of 105W. The US pricing is USD 549. The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X India pricing is Rs. 41,990, with the GST-inclusive pricing coming to around Rs. 49,550.

Finally, the flagship is the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, which has 16 cores and 32 threads. The base clock is at 3.4 GHz and the boost is up to 4.9 GHz. TDP stays at 105W. AMD is selling this CPU for USP at 799 in the US. In India, the AMD Ryzen 95950X is priced at Rs. 80,990, and the GST-inclusive price tag is around Rs. 71,970.
