Apple during its virtual event on November 10 not only revealed about its two new MacBooks and a Mac Mini with M1 processor but also announced about their much awaited macOS Big Sur. As per Apple, it will be coming to all compatible Mac devices within a week. Apple has launched its three new Mac models which includes MacBook Pro 13 inch, MacBook Air and Mac Mini with Apple’s in-house ARM based M1 chipset. Also, the company announced during the event that the next generation of its desktop operating system known as macOS Big Sur will be available for all the compatible Mac from November 12. Users who are willing to get their hands-on the latest macOS Big Sur can download the beta version immediately.
macOS Big Sur is a large and prime software release by Apple for Mac users. It allows the support for the Apple Silicon based Macs including the newly launched MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13-inch and the Mac Mini. The latest macOS version gives support to universal apps which are basically designed to run on the new Apple Silicon as well as Intel x86 based Macs and as confirmed by Apple, it will also support iOS and iPadOS apps natively.
Additionally, macOS Big Sur also comes along with a host of other changes including a new design, updated Safari, new Messages and Mail apps, updated Notification Center, new widgets, and many more.
Steps to update your Mac to macOS Big Sur:
It should be well noted that the official version will be available by November 12 only hence, the Mac users who are waiting to upgrade their device to the latest Big Sur need to wait for some more hours for the official release of the update.
How to check for the update:
-All you need to do is just click on the Apple logo which is present at the top left corner of your MacBook’s screen.
-Then click on the option “About”.
-Then moving forward, click on the option “Check for updates”.
If the update is yet to be released then, you need to wait and follow these instructions again and once the update is available just go forward and click on the install option.
