Apple is reportedly pushing up to launch a low cost version of its popular MacBook Air laptop. As per a renowned analyst of KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo – MacBook Air will be launched by the Cupertino-based tech giant at an affordable price in the second quarter of 2018.
As per Kuo, the new variant of MacBook is expected to be launched with an affordable price. He further revealed that in order to garner more market share in the laptop market, the brand is planning to launch a 13 inch model with a lesser cost. It was claimed in a previous report from DigiTimes, which suggested a similar model.
As of now, Apple has not launched any new variant of its entry level MacBook Air laptop. During WWDC 2017, the company announced the updated version of Macbook Air. The 13 inch MacBook Air was updated with a 1.8 GHz Core i5 processor. Currently MacBook Pro, MacBook and MacBook Air are the range of laptops which Apple have.
The cost for a 13 inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is Rs 1,47,900 with 256GB SSD storage variant and Rs 1,64,100 with 512GB SSD storage variant. Whereas the cost of 13 inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar and Touch ID is Rs 1,04,900 for 128GB variant and Rs 1,47,900 for 256GB variant. The 15 inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar will cost Rs 1, 98,500 with 256GB storage variant while the 512GB variant will cost Rs 2, 28,100.
The 12 inch MacBook which also has the Intel Kaby Lake processors and 50 percent faster SSDs will cost Rs 1,04,800 for 256GB SSD variant and Rs 1,28,700 for 512GB SSD variant. MacBook Air got a minor upgrade from 2-year-old 1.6GHz Core i5 Broadwell chip upgraded to 1.8GHz Core i5 Broadwell chip. It will be available to sell at its old price only which are Rs 77,200 and Rs 92,500 respectively.
