The Bajaj Platina is a very popular entry-level commuter motorcycle in the Indian market. The Bajaj Platina is now sold in several variants and gets two different BS6 engine options. More recently, the company has launched a new kick-start variant of the Platina 100. First of all, talking about the aesthetics of the motorcycle, it looks almost like before, but there are some refreshing graphics on the body panels.
In addition, the motorcycle now gets new clear lens turn indicators and redesigned sharp rear-view mirrors that add to its overall aesthetic appeal. Other bits of the motorcycle remain the same as before. At the front, it gets a small black-out visor, a short daytime LED strip, a flat and comfortable single-piece seat and more. The new Platina 100 KS variant will be available in two different color options which will be Cocktail Red and Ebony Black, as before and they also get silver decals.
Now, talking about its hardware, at the front, the motorcycle continues to get telescopic forks but at the rear, it now gets a new spring-on-spring nitrox suspension. The company claims that this new Nitrox suspension will provide 15 percent more comfort for the rider as well as both during long rides. All these motorcycles are powered by BS6-compliant 102 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected, DTS-i engines. This BS6 motor churns out a power of 7.9 PS at 7500 rpm and torque of 8.34 Nm at 5500 rpm and the engine comes in a four-speed manual gearbox.
Braking duties on this motorcycle are controlled by either drum brake at the end. However, it also has a top-end variant that gets a disc brake at the front. Both variants of this motorcycle get CBS or a combined braking system as standard. The motorcycle also now gets tubeless tires which is again a major update. The new tubeless tires will ensure hassle free puncture repair.
