Bang & Olufsen launches Beolit 20 premium wireless speaker with up to 8 hours battery life

Bang & Olufsen launched its Beolit 20 premium Bluetooth speaker in Europe. Beolit 20 is a successor to company’s Beolit 17 speaker which was launched in 2017. The company claims that the new wireless speaker can give up to 37 hours of playtime at background listening volumes and up to 8 hours of playtime at typical listening volumes. The USP’s of the speaker are its basket-like design, USB Type-C charging and Qi wireless charging dock at the top of the unit.

Price of Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 is EUR 500 which is approx. Rs. 43,500. It is available in two magnificent colour options – Grey Mist and Black Anthracite. As of now, there is no information regarding its launch in India.

Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 is the fourth-generation speaker after Beolit 17 which was launched in 2017, Beolit 15 launched in 2015 and Beolit 12 launched in 2012. The speaker has maintained its overall lunch-box or basket-type design. However, the Beolit 20 comes along with great improvements over its predecessor. The first is the design of the speaker where now it has a new grille and a simplified, intuitive suite of control buttons. The exterior body is made up of anodised aluminium for a robust body and there is a new vegetable tanned leather strap.

The company claims that the Beolit 20 will give True360 sound which is tuned by Bang & Olufsen engineers. As far as speaker configuration is concerned, it has three 1.5 inch full range speakers, a 5.5 inch woofer and two 4 inch passive bass radiators. Also, there are two 35W Class D amplifiers and it comes with five presets and fully customisable EQ through Bang & Olufsen app.

Unlike its predecessor, the new speaker has an in-built 5W wireless charging station to charge Qi compatible devices. Users can keep their devices over the circular “charging” sign in the centre of the top tray. Company claims to deliver up to 8 hours playtime at a typical listening volume and using wireless Qi charging features. The speaker comes along with a USB Type C connectivity and with 3200mAh battery which can be fully charged in just 3 hours at 15V – 3A charging.

Regarding connectivity options, the Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 comprises Bluetooth v4.2. As mentioned above, it has a USB Type-C for charging and a 3.5mm port. The speaker also lets you stereo pair between Beolit 20 speakers as well as between Beolit 20 and Beolit 17 speakers.
