Facebook has introduced new features exclusively for virtual Diwali celebrations this year. It includes personalized greetings with Diwali-ready Avatars. Facebook gives an opportunity to its users to encourage their family and friends to participate in fun challenges and spread festive cheer online this Diwali. Facebook users can follow Diwali specific content on the social platform using hashtags #Diwali2020 and #ShubhDiwali2020.
Challenge your family and friends:
This feature will let you share a photo or video of how you and your family are celebrating this year’s Diwali at home with the hashtag #DiwaliAtHomeChallenge or create a DIY video of how you recycle diyas, lanterns, light bulbs, and candleholders. You can also challenge your Facebook friends to share their Diwali DIY projects by using the #DIYDiwaliChallenge.
“Begin a challenge by entering a hashtag in English that ends in the word ‘challenge’, if you wish to create a new Facebook post (challenge) or tap on the ‘Try It’ button if you see another challenge post in your News Feed,” the company said in a statement.
“Add photos and videos to your Diwali challenge post this festive season and nominate your family and friends to join in the fun by tagging them,” they added. Facebook users can make their short-form text posts even more expressive by sharing a limited edition Diwali-themed avatars Background.
