Google Chrome may soon show video tutorials on how to browse


Google Chrome is said to be one of the most user-friendly web browsers. As per Google, the new video tutorial will help users to know more about the Google Chrome browser. Google will be adding video tutorials in the browser regarding ‘How to use Chrome’. The company is also doing testing of the feature in the Chrome Dev and Canary channels as per Androidpolice.

As per the report, a new flag is added in the Chrome Dev and Canary channels and addition is named as “#video-tutorials.” When this flag is enabled, a new card will appear for video tutorials on a new tab on chrome. A Google Assistant like card based arrangement showcases different videos regarding Chrome related features including “how to discover new apps and websites”, “how to listen to the webpage” and “how to download content for later.”

The video tutorials also come along with a share button in the player. Also, the video tutorial card on the new tab button can be removed by tapping on the cross button at the top right corner.

According to a report, so far Google’s new video tutorials are available on the mobile version of the Chrome browser. As of now there is no reference regarding the tutorial appearing on the desktop platforms. Google’s new initiative to push video tutorials focused at mobile users. Chrome Android App has added multiple features over the years and apart from basic browsing or incognito mode, the browser comes along with a password manager, data compression, translate, bookmarks etc.

Google’s recent upgrades to the Chrome browser have concentrated on enhancing privacy features. For an example, version 86 comes with a new tool which aims at blocking websites which try to use notifications for abusive and misleading content. While the UI remains unchanged, the update permits the browser to detect websites which holds a record of sending abusive content through notifications. Google also highlighted that some malicious websites use this hack to inject bugs or show system messages like interface to steal user’s login credentials.
