Google certainly has an edge over Amazon with services like YouTube and YouTube TV along with Google Assistant, but it will be interesting to see whether it will be able to occupy a good market share with the new smart displays market successfully or not.

Google made the announcement regarding its smart displays powered by Android at the CES 2018. Now, during its annual developer conference, the search engine giant has revealed the launch date of the smart devices i.e. in July this year.

To date, the brand has not announced the exact launch date of the upcoming smart displays. Also, the company has not shared the pricing and availability of the devices as well. However, this could prove to be a direct competition to Amazon’s Echo Show, which has similar functionality. Google certainly has an edge over Amazon with services like YouTube and YouTube TV along with Google Assistant, but it will be interesting to see whether it will be able to occupy a good market share with the new smart displays market successfully or not.

Google had already announced that it has tied up with Lenovo, LG, JBL, and Sony to come with a touchscreen display. The new smart displays will feature the Google Assistant, which will make the speakers smarter. So one can watch videos on YouTube, video calls with Google Duo, find photos from Google Photos, and more. Consumers will also get recommendations for their favorite content, right on the home screen.
