Chip maker NVIDIA Corp has announced on Monday that Hyundai Motor Group will integrate the NVIDIA DRIVE in vehicle information and entertainment system starting from 2022 for all its Hyundai, Kia and Genesis models. Nvidia has also stated that the luxury vehicle division of Hyundai, Genesis already incorporated Nvidia Drive for its GV80 and G80 models. Hyundai Motor is the parent company and Kia is the sister company of Hyundai.
On Monday, Hyundai said in a statement that this technical collaboration with chip maker Nvidia will enable Hyundai Motor to develop high-performance connected car computing systems for its next-generation models.
Nvidia further added that the system includes hardware and software elements and it uses artificial intelligence to enhance the user experience. Nvidia also said that the software can be “perpetually” updated, giving vehicles the latest AI cockpit features.
However, Nvidia declined to say how many vehicles Nvidia Drive would be installed in but has mentioned that it is a large number and highlighted the fact that Hyundai Motor shipped more than 7 million vehicles in 2019.
Nvidia has further stated that they are working with other big brands also like Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Honda on in-car entertainment and information systems.
