Intel has the Next Unit of Computing which is known as NUC branding. Under this branding the company launches computing devices. So far, Intel used to launch small form factor desktop device designs but now it is going to expand its portfolio. The company has revealed its new NUC M15 laptop kit. It is basically a pre-built laptop which comes powered by the company’s own processors known as 10nm Quad-Core Tiger Lake. The NUC M15 has been given a codename as ‘Bishop Country’ which is a customisable base unit or a laptop kit which can be modified with different storage options. Intel does not sell its NUC line of products directly to consumers but to partners with brands which customise and sell these products under their own names.

Intel NUC M15 Price, Availability and Specifications:

The Intel NUC M15 is a 15.6 inch laptop weighing under 1.7 kg. It comprises a CNC anodized aluminium chassis which is 14.9mm (0.59 in) thick and available in two colour options which are Shadow Grey and Black. The NUC M15 is powered by Intel’s new 10nm, 11th-generation Tiger Lake processors and the options are between Core i5-1135G7 and Core i7-1165G7 quad-core processors. The laptop will also feature Intel’s new Iris Xe integrated graphics which was announced last month.

Intel claims that the NUC M15’s 73 Whr battery can deliver video playback of up to 16 hours on full charge. The laptop supports fast charging and claims to offer video playback of 4 hours with 30 minutes of charging. The laptop also comes with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

As per Intel, the new laptop is built on the lines of its Project Athena — an initiative which the company said will focus on fine-tuning performance and experience on ultraportable laptops. The NUC M15 laptop do not come under the ultraportable category but, Intel says that the NUC M15 can get the Intel ‘Evo’ branding which was introduced by Intel earlier this year for premium ultra-portables which have gone through with extensive testing and validation at the design stage depending upon the final customizations made by the brands who sells it.

Intel has not confirmed which brands will sell customizations based on the NUC M15 ‘Bishop County.’ As per Intel, the laptop will be available starting January 2021. Also, the final price of the product will depend on its configuration and on the pricing strategy of brands which will customize and sell it. As per company, NUC M15-based laptops expected price will be between $999 and $1,499 which is approx. Rs. 74,000 and Rs. 1,04,000 respectively.
