Jio has finally received the approval for its Bluetooth speaker from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The listing which was first spotted by popular tipster Mukul Sharma indicates no information regarding its features and specifications. The only information which surfaced through the listing is its model number which is M101i.
The BIS certification is one good clue about the launch of the first Bluetooth speaker by Jio soon. Jio only sells 4G routers through its website apart from a few smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Google and iTel. The company is expected to expand its product portfolio soon by introducing new devices like the Jio Bluetooth speaker.
Jio’s upcoming Bluetooth speaker can be one of the many planned IoT products for the country. Last year, the telecom giant had confirmed that it will be ending its IoT platform this year. With only a few weeks left in the year it seems that the IoT platform might be there in the coming year.
Jio Exclusive Phones:
Recently, it was reported that the contracts of approx. 20 to 25 million existing users of the Jio 4G feature phone will expire in the coming six months. In order to retain its existing users and to add new consumers, the telecom giant has reportedly planned to migrate them to 4G smartphones through its all new initiative “Jio exclusive”.
The company is focusing its 4G smartphones to an approx. 350 million feature phone users in India. The Jio exclusive smartphone introduces benefits like discounts, shopping benefits, OTT subscriptions and more. However, the only restriction is that these phones will work only with Jio connection. In simpler words we can say that users will not be able to use SIM cards of other service providers with the Jio exclusive phones. Vivo has recently announced the Vivo Y1s entry level phone which comes in a regular version as well as Jio SIM locked version which comes along with the above mentioned benefits.
