Domestic mobile handset brand Lava on Tuesday launched a new feature phone ‘Lava Pulse 1’ with a contact-less thermometer at INR 1,999. The feature phone will help users to measure their body temperature without touching the thermo-sensor.

The users need to just place the back of their hand or forehead a few centimeters away from the sensor and their body temperature will be immediately displayed on the screen, the company said in a statement.

Users also get an option to save up to 10 temperature readings on their phone for future reference and share the data with others through messages.

“Lava Pulse 1 is a solution for people who cannot afford the high cost of contactless thermometers or do not have easy access to a doctor/medical facility,” said Tejinder Singh, Head-Product, Lava International.

Lava ‘Pulse 1’ comes with a 2.4-inch display and is military-grade certified. It sports a sturdy polycarbonate body, VGA camera, torch, and has an expandable memory of up to 32GB.

The handset has an 1800mAh battery supported with super-battery mode, which can last for up to six days on a single charge. Lava Pulse 1 also offers some more features including a number talker, photo icons for saving contacts, dual SIM support, and wireless FM with recording.

The phone gives the feature of auto call-recording and enables users to type in seven different languages, the company said.
