Lenovo introduces smart glasses with 1080pixel displays and 8-megapixel RGB camera

Chinese tablet and PC manufacturer Lenovo has introduced its ThinkReality A3 smart glasses during the virtual CES 2021. The new device is a next-generation augmented reality (AR) solution and one of the most advanced and adaptable enterprise smart glasses to come in the market. It will help to alter work across many levels of the enterprise from personalized virtual monitors and 3D imagination to immersive training.

The new smart glasses will be available globally in selected markets starting from mid-2021. Its products page has already gone live via the official US website of the brand with a ‘notify me’ button.

The latest smart glasses by Lenovo fits like regular sunglasses and are ultraportable. The smart glasses are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 Platform and come with a stereoscopic 1080-pixel display giving up to 5 virtual displays to the user. There is an 8-megapixel RGB camera which provides 1080-pixel video for remote expert use cases whereas the dual fish-eye cameras gives room-scale tracking.

Jon Pershke, Lenovo Vice President of Strategy and Emerging Business, Intelligent Device Group said that, “The smart glasses are part of a comprehensive integrated digital solution from Lenovo that includes the advanced AR device, ThinkReality software, and Motorola mobile phones. Whether working in virtual spaces or supporting remote assistance, the ThinkReality A3 enhances workers’ abilities to do more wherever they are”.

The Lenovo ThinkReality A3 PC Edition hitches to a PC or mobile workstation which allows users to position multiple, large virtual monitors in their viewing area and use Windows software tools and applications. Virtual monitors are advanced and compatible with Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops and mobile workstations which are powered by Intel and AMD Ryzen processors.

The Lenovo ThinkReality A3 Industrial Edition hitches to selected Motorola smartphones which are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processor or with better and DisplayPort ability for hands-free, AR-supported tasks in complex working environments. The Industrial Edition which is supported by the ThinkReality software platform lets the industrial workers to increase efficiency and security while decreasing error rates in daily tasks.
