Microsoft announces Surface Go with entry level specifications

Today, Microsoft has announced the launch of its latest entry level Surface Go tablet. It will directly compete with the entry level iPad. The latest tablet from Microsoft will be available with a starting price tag of $399 which is equal to Rs 27,600 approx. The Surface Go tablet will be available for pre orders in three countries – US, UK and Australia and is expected to ship in August.

The latest device has a fair share of resemblance with its premium Surface Pro. As seen in the flagship device there will be a pop out stand and similar design language. The Microsoft Surface Go will have a 10 inch PixelSense display. It will have a screen resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2.

Microsoft Surface Go will have 4GB of RAM with 64GB of eMMC flash storage for the base variant whereas the other variant will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage with a price tag of $549. The latest device will be powered by the 7th generation Intel Pentium Gold processor 4415Y and it will run on Windows 10 Home.

Microsoft claims that the device can give up to 9 hours of battery backup and it is the first Surface device with USB Type C port enabled in it. It has Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector as well which allows the user to connect to a desktop dock alongside charging the tablet.

A host of new accessories has also been introduced by the company for the Surface Go tablet. The Standard Type Cover keyboard will come with a price tag of $99 while the Signature Type Cover keyboard will come with a price tag of $129.  Also, you can have Surface Mobile Mouse and Surface Pen which will cost $35 and $99 respectively.
