Global streaming giant Netflix has made an announcement that it will offer free access to all Indian non-subscribers for two days (December 5 and December 6). The OTT platform is making its streaming services free in India as a promotional activity to attract more subscribers who can watch any series or show of their choice without buying the app’s subscription.

Users who will register for Netflix Streamfest can avail various benefits like to browse the content on Netflix and to be able to stream the app on their smart iOS, TV, gaming console and Android apps and on the PC. But the streaming quality would be of Standard Definition (SD).

In a bid to attract more subscribers in the country, the company had previously introduced a low-cost mobile streaming plan at Rs. 199 only. Besides, Netflix also introduced various short-term plans for subscribers in India.

“We think that giving away everyone in a country access to Netflix for free for a weekend could be a great way to expose a bunch of new people to the amazing stories that we have, the service and how it works,” Greg Peters, COO and Chief Product Officer at Netflix, said during the company’s earnings call.
