Like a number of makers, HMD Global’s product release schedule doesn’t have a well-defined pattern. The Nokia 5 series that rolled out in early 2017 got two successors in the following year – the Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 5.1 Plus. In 2019, the series didn’t get a new version, and then in March of this year, the Nokia 5.3 was announced. Now, a new report says that the Nokia 5.4 may also get announced this year.
The Nokia 5.4 is reported to roll out next month adjacent to the Nokia 7.3 5G. If that launch doesn’t get postponed like that of the Nokia 9.3 PureView. The blog, Nokia Power User, says that they have gotten unshared information regarding the design, configuration, and colors of the upcoming Nokia 5.4.
According to the sources, the Nokia 5.4 is likely to adopt the hole-punch design, dropping the water drop notch of its predecessor. The screen size is likely to be 6.39-inch, the same size as that of the Nokia 3.4 but the resolution is not revealed. Since the Nokia 5.3 features an HD plus screen, it is expected that this will be the case for its successor as well.
There is no certain information about the processor but it is expected to be more powerful than the Snapdragon 665 chipset inside the Nokia 5.3. The chip will be paired with 4GB of RAM and available in 64GB and 128GB versions. It is also reported to house 4 rear cameras. Users will be able to choose from two color options – Blue and Green. The battery capacity is not revealed, but we expect that the phone will support at least 18W fast charging as HMD Global’s insistence to stick to 10W charging for a lot of its mid-range phones.
