After launching the Smart TV lineup recently, Nokia is looking to launch a new laptop series, called the ‘Nokia Purebook’ in the Indian market. The company has already started teasing for its upcoming Purebook laptop series via its official social media platforms. On the other hand, domestic e-commerce website, Flipkart.com through a teaser on their website, has announced that their e-commerce platform will be the exclusive retail partner for the Nokia Purebook laptop series.
The dedicated teaser page on flipkart indicates that the Nokia-branded laptops will be lightweight, powerful, and will deliver an immersive experience.
Unfortunately, the launch date and other details of the laptops have not been revealed by the company yet but as expected it might be revealed on the later date.
Flipkart is promoting the laptop on the Laptop Store page with a tagline “Built to empower” and shows a laptop with silver finish. As of now, there is no information about the laptop models but according to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) listing, there will be nine models of the Nokia Purebook. A couple of days ago, as many as nine Nokia laptop models had received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. Although it is not clear if the company plans to launch one or multiple models initially.
Nine Nokia laptop models that include model numbers – NKi510UL82S, NKi510UL85S, NKi510UL165S, NKi510UL810S, NKi510UL1610S, NKi310UL41S, NKi310UL42S, NKi310UL82S and NKi310UL85S – recently received BIS certification which indicates that these models will be powered by the Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors.
It is believed that the letters ‘NK’ mentioned in the model number refers to Nokia brand and the following alpha-numeric part refers to the processor. If this is correct, then there will be five models of Nokia Purebook which will be powered by the Intel Core i5 processor and other four models will be powered by the Intel Core i3 processor. It is assumed that they might be using 10th-generation Intel processors.
If you are not aware of this, HMD Global is a Finnish start-up company, which has the official permit to manufacture, distribute and sell Nokia-branded smartphones and feature phones worldwide. On the other hand, domestic e-commerce platform Flipkart manufactures and retails Nokia branded smart TVs and TV sticks in India. Nokia offers many devices in its portfolio like smartphones, smart TV models, feature phones, audio gear and some other devices. Now, it seems that the company is taking a chance into the laptop category with its Purebook series.
