OPPO has recently confirmed that the Find X3 flagship smartphone will be one of the first devices to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. The announcement comes a day after Qualcomm unveiled the all-new Snapdragon 888 5G SoC that powers the flagship Android phone in 2021. Oppo Find X3 is now confirmed to be launched with Qualcomm’s new chipset. On the other hand, Xiaomi and Realme have also announced that the Mi 11 and Realme Race will soon come with the latest Snapdragon 888 5G processor. Oppo’s Chief 5G scientist Henry Tang said the X3 discoveries with the Snapdragon 888 chipset “will enable enhanced 5G performance and enhance technologies such as AI and imaging”.
Tang said that the Oppo Find X3 will have a full-path colour management system which will be the first Android colour management system to support a full DCI-P3 wide colour gamut with 10-bit colour depth. It was announced back in November. Beyond this, nothing more is known about the Oppo Find X3 at the moment.
Since the Oppo Find X3 is confirmed to be among the first devices to be launched with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, we expect the launch to take place in Q1 2021. Brands like Xiaomi and Realme are also gearing up to launch their flagship phones powered by Snapdragon 888 Soon SoC. Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi 11 chipset will have a global debut while Realme Race is going to be launched in India soon.
The Snapdragon 888-powered Oppo Find X3 will be able to find the X2 series from earlier this year. To recall, among other things the X2 and Find X2 Pro were launched with Snapdragon 865 chipset, 65W fast charging support, 120Hz display and 48MP triple cameras. Find out the X3 specs, it’s not clear yet but we hope to learn more in the coming weeks.
