Soon after launching the Reno5 5G, Reno5 Pro, and Reno5 Pro+ in China, Oppo has now announced the launch of a new model of the smartphone in Vietnam. Named as the Oppo Reno5 4G, the smartphone is somewhat a watered-down model of its elder sibling. It is mostly identical to its 5G version with some upgrades and downgrades here and there. Like, the Oppo Reno5 4G specifications comprise a slightly better 44MP selfie camera, but its fast charging capability is restricted to 50W instead of 65W that we saw on the 5G model. The Oppo Reno5 4G price in Vietnam is VND 8,690,000 (approximately Rs. 27,500). There is yet no official announcement about the international availability of the smartphone, but there is a high possibility of it being rolled out in India, most probably alongside the Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G, which just received BIS certification.
Oppo Reno5 4G specifications
One of the main areas where Oppo has downgraded the Reno5 4G is the chipset section. The smartphone runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via a micro SD card; contrary to it, the 5G model comes powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC. The 4G variant comes packed with a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. As mentioned previously, its 4,310mAh battery supports fast charging just at 50W. Finally, the OPPO Reno5 4G runs Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1.
Things remain largely the same on the camera section. The Oppo Reno5 4G has four rear cameras; a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Here, the selfie camera is upgraded to a 44MP, instead of the 32MP sensor used on the 5G version of the smartphone. It is available in two color options: Starry Black and Fantasy White.

On the other hand, the Reno 5 5G costs around Rs. 30,000, based on the translation of its Chinese price. This original launch took place in Vietnam and it will now be launched in Indonesia on January 12.
