POCO is turning into an independent brand worldwide, the brand announces through its social media channels. In the letter, the company has claimed that it has already entered 35 nations over the world and has sold 6 million units of phones.
POCO had first launched its phone in India and it was presented as a sub-brand of Xiaomi. Though, recently, the organization has announced that it will move ahead as an independent brand.
The brand at first gained fame among young phone users, on account of the success of the POCO F1 that debuted as the first smartphone under the POCO name. However, in recent months, the POCO has brought phones that were mainly rebadging some already existing Redmi models.
After the launch of one of its mid-range phones, the organization reiterated that it will be proceeding as an independent brand.
The organization Global wing presented a letter to its fans expressing gratitude toward them for supporting the brand since its launch in 2018 when the brand originally launched the POCO F1. The gadget had figured out how to make a wave in the phone market because of an affordable price tag yet at the same time with some amazing configurations. Afterward, POCO had launched different gadgets in the mid-range segment. The latest addition from the brand is the POCO M3 which can be considered to sit well in the budget segment phones.
POCO said that the company has entered more than 35 worldwide markets since its launch and sold more than 6,000,000 phones around the world. The POCO F1 likewise hit the milestone of over 2.2 million shipments worldwide. The POCO, however, didn’t unveil the market performance of its other smartphone models, which includes POCO C3, POCO F2 Pro, POCO M2, POCO M2 Pro, POCO X2, POCO X3, and POCO X3 NFC.
POCO also didn’t give any details on whether there will be any changes in the after-sales services of its phones as it turns into an independent brand. Also, the brand is still using Xiaomi’s MIUI custom skin on top of Android OS for its smartphones.
