*More Dimensity-powered phones will enter the Indian market in 2021.
Almost a year ago, Realme announced a new Dimensity series of 5G capable mobile processors, but the first MediaTek Dimensity powered device is yet to be released in India. In a recent interview, Mr. Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India shared that the MediaTek Dimensity powered phones would not make an entry this year in India.
In contrast to his statement, Mr. Madhav Sheth, Realme CEO tipped the India launch of the Realme X7 series almost a month back. Realme X7 Pro has already got the BIS certification, and a leak suggested that the Realme X7 series devices may enter the Indian market as early as next month.
MediaTek’s Dimensity chipsets are 5G capable chipsets offered at affordable rates and are becoming highly popular among the premium mid-range phones. Mr. Anku Jain said that 5G will be highly beneficial for markets like India and over 70 percent of smart TVs across the globe are powered by MediaTek chipsets, which is quite a big deal.
The Realme X7 Pro sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED FHD plus display with a resolution of 2,400 X 1,080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB data storage. Realme X7 Pro houses a quad-camera setup at the back with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a couple of 2MP sensors for macro and black and white shots. For good-looking selfies and video chats, it features a 32MP front-facing camera. It is backed with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.
