After a series of teasers, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has finally launched its latest pocket-friendly smartphone, Redmi 9 Power in the Indian mobile market. The latest handset features a quad rear camera setup and a water-drop styled notch display. Other major highlights of the latest handset are the latest MIUI 12, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, stereo speakers and on-board storage of up to 128GB. The Redmi 9 Power is basically a revamped Redmi Note 9 4G which launched late last month in China. It comes with slight changes in the camera, RAM and storage fronts.
Redmi 9 Power Price in India and Availability:
Redmi 9 Power price will be available for Rs. 10,999 in India for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant whereas the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant will be available for Rs. 11,999. The smartphone is available in four beautiful colours – Blazing Blue, Electric Green, Fiery Red and Mighty Black. It can be purchased online via Amazon and Mi.com, Mi Homes, Mi Studios and Mi Stores. It will be available for sale starting from December 22 at 12pm (noon). It will also be available through offline retailers.
To recall, the Redmi Note 9 4G was launched in China with a starting price of CNY 999 which is Rs. 11,200 approx. for the base storage variant of 4GB RAM + 128GB.
Redmi 9 Power Features and Specifications:
The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi 9 Power features a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ water drop style notch display. It has a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 400 nits brightness. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of the display. The phone is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor and runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top and paired with Adreno 610 GPU.
The Redmi 9 Power has a quad rear camera setup at the back which includes a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor, along with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, 2-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It has an 8-megapixel camera sensor at the front for selfies and video chats and the camera sensor also supports artificial intelligence (AI) Face Unlock feature.
The Redmi 9 Power comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of on-board UFS 2.2 storage which is further expandable up to 512GB via microSD card through a dedicated slot. On the connectivity front, it includes dual-band Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, Infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also has stereo speakers which are Hi-Res Audio certified. Also, there is Widevine L1 certification in order to support HD Web streaming via platforms which includes Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
It also has a side mounted fingerprint sensor and comprises an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer and a proximity sensor. It is backed by a hefty 6000mAh battery capacity with 18W fast charging support, 22.5W charger in the box. The new handset comes with reverse wired charging support and comprises an Enhanced Lifespan Battery (ELB) technology. Its measurement is 162.3×77.3×9.6mm and weight is 198 grams.
