Redmi Note 9 Pro starts receiving Android 11 update in India

Xiaomi had recently launched the Android 11 update for its premium Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro smartphones, and now it has released the update for Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. The phone was launched with Android 10 based on MIUI 11, but it received an upgrade to MIUI 12 in September 2020.

The new MIUI 12 update comes with the V12.0.1.0.RJWINXM build number and has a volume of 2.3GB. Since it is based on Android 11, users are also going to get the latest security, privacy, and messaging upgrades. Remember, this is a stable beta build so there are high chances of bugs and stability issues. Redmi Note 9 Pro owners will get an OTA update while Note 9S users will have to manually flash the new firmware.

Redmi Note 9 Pro owners will most likely receive an update notification. So, they can directly download the update from the notification bar. Otherwise, the latest version of the operating system can be installed by heading to the Settings menu and About Phone. 

According to the users who have upgraded through the new OS update, it comes around 2.3GB and carries V12.0.1.0.RJWINXM build number. It is based on Android 11. So, you will get all the latest features, security enhancements, and bug fixes with it.
