Japanese electronics company Sony has announced a new range of products from OLED TVs to new sound systems and more at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. The major announcement includes the latest X900f series and A8F Bravia OLED series.
As of now, Sony has not revealed the price and availability. But, X900F and A8F BRAVIA OLED series will be available on sale at Amazon, Best Buy and some other authorized dealers in the US. Both the series supports Dolby Vision, which will basically deliver higher brightness and contrast and more vibrant colours via Internet video services and HDMI.
Both are Android TVs and will have Google Assistant feature. Through Google Assistant, an individual can ask to play TV shows, movies and more. One can also use this feature by giving commands to dim or brighten the lights and control connected devices while watching a movie for a better viewing experience. Furthermore, both the series will have features of hands free control with Amazon Alexa enabled devices and Google Home. Sony’s Android TV can connect with Amazon Alexa to play, pause, fast forward, rewind etc.
They will also have Triluminos display in order to enhance the colour accuracy. It also uses 4K X-Reality Pro to produce some noticeable details with a unique algorithm of reality database creation for any content which includes TV broadcasting, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, Internet video and digital photos.
To start with the A8F series, Sony has incorporated its 4K HDR picture Processor X1 Extreme and Acoustic Surface technology in the latest OLED TVs. This technology basically lets the entire screen resonate to allow unification of picture and sound. It also has 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme which provides 4K HDR view experience by incorporating three new technologies. These technologies include Object-based HDR remaster, Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR and Dual database processing. The television will be available in two sizes of 65 inches and 55 inches.
This X900F series will be available in five sizes which are 85 inches, 75 inches, 65 inches, 55 inches and 49 inches. This will also have the same feature as the A8F series with 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme. This will also have X-tended Dynamic Range PRO 6x features. It will enhance both HDR and non HDR content by boosting and dimming the backlight levels for each zone of the screen with a unique backlighting technology. X900F also has X-Motion Clarity feature which maintains fast action smooth and clear. To minimize blur, moving images are precisely controlled.
