Vaio is making a comeback in India on January 15 and the new Vaio laptops will be available for purchase through Flipkart in the country. The brand had once gained fame for its sleek and colourful laptops in the Indian market but it quitted a few years back. Nexsto, a Hong Kong-based Company, is bringing back the Vaio brand through a license agreement with Japan’s Vaio Corporation. Nexsto also sells Avita laptops in India and global markets. Nexsto is already manufacturing, selling, marketing and serving Vaio laptops in other countries including Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and the Middle East.
The new Vaio laptops which are entering in Indian market are assured to be premium, intelligently-crafted and deliver extraordinary quality. But, as of now the company has not disclosed the features and specifications of the new models.
Commenting on the announcement of Vaio’s comeback, Seema Bhatnagar, Regional Business Director, South Asia of Vaio, said, “We are looking forward to becoming the top choice for laptop buyers across the country.”
The E-Commerce giant, Flipkart has created a microsite in order to launch the teaser of the new Vaio laptops in the country. The microsite gives us a glimpse of the design for the upcoming range and indicates that the laptops will be lightweight.
Vaio’s has made its comeback in the middle of the growing laptop market in the country because of the COVID-19 pandemic which has made work from home a necessity. As per the recent report by International Data Corporation (IDC), the PC market in the country has seen a 9.2 percent year-over-year (YoY) growth during Q3 of 2020. The laptop market is influenced by some traditional players like HP, Lenovo and Dell for some time but new players like Xiaomi are extending their line-ups to gain new Indian consumers.
