Chinese smartphone maker Vivo launched its latest entry-level phone, called the Vivo Y1s in some global markets earlier this year. Now, the company is likely to launch the same device in India as a report by MySmartPrice. The report reveals that Vivo may soon bring the company’s latest entry-level smartphone in the Vivo Y series to grab a share of its rivals.
According to the report, Indian retail sources say that Vivo will soon launch Vivo Y1 in the country. And like every other Y series device, it will primarily focus on the offline market. If you remember, some of the latest Y series devices in India include Vivo Y20, Y20i and Vivo Y30. The company is also expected to launch a slightly premium Vivo Y51 in India.
Vivo Y1s Specifications:
First, the specification pictures shared from retail sources suggest that Vivo is likely to target rivals such as Samsung, Oppo. In short, it will compete against the likes of Vivo Y1s Samsung M01 and Oppo A1k. If you remember, the M01 was launched in India in June while the Oppo A1k was launched earlier in April 2019.
Anyway, the Vivo Y1s has a polycarbonate shell and comes in Olive Black and Aurora Blue colours. It has a 6.22-inch HD + (720x1520p) halo full view display with NEG T2X-1 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 SoC with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage. For cameras, you have a 13MP f / 2.2 rear and 5MP f / 1.8 front camera.
Other features include 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, microSD up to 256 GB, 4,030mAh battery, reverse charging, and 3.5 mm smartphone jack.
Vivo Y1s expected price in India:
Both the M01 and A1k retail for Rs. 7,499 (3GB RAM / 32GB storage) and Rs. 7,999 (2GB / 32GB) in India, respectively. In comparison, the Vivo Y1s launched in Cambodia only with a 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant and the device comes with a price tag of $109 (Approx. Rs. 8,064).
Thus, we can expect a similar price of Rs. 8,000 in India. Having said that, Vivo Y1s runs Android 10 out-of-the-box and you will find the company’s old Funtouch OS 10.5 UI on top.
