WhatsApp Messenger has 1.5 billion monthly active users, according to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He further added that the app has seen nearly 60 billion message exchanges in one day.
After announcing the quarter fourth results, Zuckerberg further marked that WhatsApp and Instagram are the top two Story-sharing products. This is a remarkable rise, as in July last year, WhatsApp reported that it has1.3 billion monthly active users only.
The company shared that nearly 1 billion active users daily send over 55 billion messages per day, 4.5 billion photos, and 1 billion videos. WhatsApp had only 450 million monthly active users in the year 2014 when Facebook acquired it. WhatsApp only had 350 million daily active users then. Now in just two years, it has achieved a massive success by crossing one billion daily active users.
Earlier, WhatsApp had also announced the launch of its WhatsApp Business app on Google Play Store. This free app is specially designed and built by keeping small business owners as the target users. The app is available today free of cost on Google Play in Italy, Indonesia, Mexico, the U.K., and the U.S. The app will be rolling out around the world in the coming weeks.
