Xiaomi Mi 10i set to launch in India on January 5; will be Amazon exclusive

Xiaomi Mi 10i is expected to launch on January 5 in India. Xiaomi has released a teaser via Twitter in which the company has not clearly mentioned the name of the smartphone but disclosed that a new smartphone will be launching on January 5 with a quad camera setup and a 108-megapixel primary sensor. If we recall some previous leaks, the phone is expected to be the Mi 10i. As per earlier report, it also suggested that the phone might launch in India as a revamped Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. This smartphone was launched recently in China with a 108-megapixel primary camera and the China 5G model differs from the Redmi Note 9 Pro model which was launched in India.

Xiaomi has announced regarding the launch date of its upcoming phone via Twitter. The tweet clearly does not mention that it will be the Mi 10i but according to the short teaser video gives enough hints indicating that is indeed the phone being launched. The teaser displays the phone having a square shaped quad rear camera set up and a 108-megapixel primary camera. The Mi 10i will be an addition to the Mi 10 series which consists– Mi 10, Mi 10 Lite, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition so far.

On the other hand, the e-commerce website Amazon India, through a teaser on their website, has announced that Amazon will be the exclusive retail partner for the Xiaomi Mi 10i. Amazon India has already put up a dedicated web page for the same, where it teases all the key specifications of the smartphone including a 108MP quad rear camera setup, a new processor and a high refresh rate screen.

The Mi 10i has been spotted recently on Geekbench bearing a model number M2007J17I. It was listed with 8GB of RAM and an Octa-core SoC with a clock speed of 1.8GHz on the Geekbench website. The phone got a single-core score of 652 and a multi-core score of 2004 and is listed to run Android 11.

Mi 10i Specifications (Expected)

As per the recent report, the Mi 10i might be a revamped model of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G which was launched last month in China. If this is to be believed then the Mi 10i might feature a 6.67-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by Snapdragon 750G SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM.

The phone will have a quad camera set up at the back which will include a 108-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Mi 10i is expected to have a 16-megapixel selfie camera at the front. The phone might be backed by a 4820mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
