You can now use custom backgrounds on Google Meet call meetings

Google always attempts to bring value-added features for enterprise customers like multiple break rooms, noise suppression, background blur, and more to Meet video call service.

Google has rolled out a custom background option in the Google Meet. The new feature will be launched in the coming days and will be available for customers subscribed to Essentials, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits customers and users with personal Google accounts.

Let’s see how to change the background on Google Meet:

Prior to a video call:

Step 1 – Go to Google Meet and select a meeting. 

Step 2 – Click the Change Background option on the bottom right of your self-view

Clicking on Blur your background completely blurs your background.

Clicking on Slightly blur your background slightly blurs your background.

To select a pre-uploaded background, click a background. 

Note: Click the ‘+’ icon to upload your own image for your background.

Step 3 – Click Join Now. 

During a video call:

Step 1 – On the bottom right, click more. 

Step 2 – Click Change background. 

Clicking on Blur your background completely blurs your background.

Clicking on Slightly blur your background slightly blurs your background.

To select a pre-uploaded background, click a background, and upload your own image for your background.

Step 3 -Click Add.

It is to be noted that the device’s camera automatically turns on when the user clicks the Change background. Also, participants (children) will not be able to upload their own pictures during the educational Google Meet call meetings.
